Healthy—not hungry. Raye is a pop-up concept with innovation, nutrition, and design at its core. Since 2019 raye showcases carefully curated products of the most innovative and exciting food, drinks and wellness brands.

Based on a minimalistic grid system, the typographic identity is flexible to adapt a fresh look from edition to edition. So far, two pop-up events have been taking place in the birth city of raye—London, UK. Each one has been branded with a signature color and typeface, which together with the iconic grid system formed the basis for the unique look.

Information

We live in times of digitalisation and constant progress. New media are changing the ways we communicate with each other and as designers with society. And with technical progress, our most important means of communication—the written word—is also constantly evolving. WTF1.8 deals with—at that time—new developments in the field of digital typography: Variable Fonts.

Can we as designers produce artworks that react to the environment? Next to a deep-dive in the (digital) history of typography and enlightening interviews with experts, active design research was the core of the project: Based on Webtechnologies and different sensory data, several reactive and interactive posters were produced that can change appearance in relation to sound, movement and other input.

Information

The Graphic Design program of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts exhibits itself. Under the title 100 Details, for fourteen days, particular attention is given to the detail. What are these one hundred details with which the programme puts itself in the spotlight? Is it peculiarities or, on the contrary, trivialities that speak most for themselves?

Starting from 001 list of 100 items that represents the recent history of the programme, 023 students multiplied this into 004 lists, 001 audio recording, 008 projectors together creating 001 large projection, 2k4 minutes of film, 010 light boxes and 100 different handouts printed on 1k4 sheets of paper normally worn by runners. However, during its setup, the exhibition was already closed (corona). No exhibition, no public. The handouts were to be bound in 014 catalogues.

Profile

As a passionate graphic designer with a strong focus on typography I love to explore new methods and technologies. My projects rank from editorial design, branding and exhibition design to web and motion design. To me, it is important that creative decisions are based on a strong concept and intense research—only like this we can produce convincing and stringent work of high quality.
